![]() I will miss the day to day competition along with the dressing room interaction. What are you going to miss most about hockey?ĭC: That’s was a very enjoyable moment and really kind of the Sheffield fan-base, thank you. I have a 13 year old son called Mason who is a joy to watch change daily as well as my oldest Morgan (who played for the Great Britain U20’s in Dumfries in December 2017) who is 18 and doing well following his dream in hockey so planning off weekends with them along with all the jobs my wife has been stacking up for me while I’ve been playing hockey, it’s an endless list aha.ĪL: I was at your final game against the Steelers where you were awarded Man of the Match and got a good reception from the whole arena. As far as now, I’ve retired playing and it’s just about spending time with my family. We then ended up playing together in Nottingham where I enjoyed looking after him and helping him get used to life in the Elite League.ĪL: For readers who may not know you very well, can you take us through a brief outline of your career and what you plan to do now you’ve retired?ĭC: My career is pretty well documented however I’m not overly precious but have enjoyed every single second of it and feel extremely fortunate to have been able to do something I love for a living for a very long time. The three of them used to destroy whoever they were playing against and I knew they would become solid players. Ferrara played alongside Clark in Nottingham for 3 years, spending four there himself, and James described that he was privileged to play alongside someone of that talent.ĪL: How and when did your paths cross with James Ferrara?ĭC: I used to watch James play when he was younger for the U12’s alongside Craig Peacock and Adam Reynolds before I’d head off on the road with the Peterborough Pirates. David inspired James as a young kid and wanted to follow in his footsteps, looking up to him as an idol. However, David Clarke grew up in Peterborough and came through the junior ice hockey ranks. Here are the interviews!Īn Interview with David Clarke (Nottingham Panthers)ĭavid Clarke has recently finished his final season with the Nottingham Panthers in the EIHL after being there since the 2003/04 season, taking only one year out in 2007/08 to play in Italy. Thank you again to James and the testimonial team for letting me be a part of the night and it will definitely be one I won’t forget. Overall, Team Panthers won on the night, but that wasn’t really important as everyone enjoyed themselves and took everything lightly. It was a fantastic, fun-filled evening with plenty of humour between the 4 teams and 60 players involved in the night. It was an honour to be able to get the opportunity to do a few interviews for the programme on the night and to get to meet James and a few other stars of the night. James is obviously former Steeler Luke Ferrara’s older brother, and has been a fantastic servant to the Peterborough Phantoms over the last 10 years. As most of you will know by now, 05.05.18 was the date of James Ferrara’s Testimonial in Peterborough.
